Goyard: All You Need To Know About Personalisation

IMAGE: GOYARD

Ever thought of personalising your Goyard bag/SLG but wasn’t sure how to go about it? Well, the good news is that you no longer have to worry about long waiting times or having your purchases sent to Paris just for the personalisation process, because everything can be done locally at Goyard’s standalone boutique in Takashimaya Shopping Centre, and will only take 3 weeks from start to completion.

You can start with your initials because that’s technically what the basis of every personalisation process is all about, right? You get a choice of 6 characters which includes alphabets and numbers as well as dots, which means that you can go with a simple ‘B’ or go all out with ‘B.H.B.’ (which stands for Bagaholicboy, by the way) if you like. Alphabets come in 4 variations with a choice of sans serif or serif font in caps, and you can choose between two font sizes, Small and Regular. Note that if you’re adding numbers, then you can only go with the Small font size. The cost starts from SGD240 (regardless if you choose 1 or 6 characters) and you can pick up to 4 different colours (inclusive of the ‘shadows’), and go up to SGD480 if you choose the metallic colours like Bronze, Gold and Silver.

Next, you can add stripes (Goyard calls them ‘motif’), and you can only do vertical lines on bags like the Hardy and Saint Louis for example, while diagonal stripes are reserved for the hard-sided items like trunks. Same rules apply here. Whether you’re doing a single, double or triple vertical stripes, it will cost SGD240 for the standard colours and SGD480 for the metallic hues.

The personalisation process is relatively straightforward with lots of options for you to get creative with. Some prefer having just initials and not stripes while others prefer stripes and not initials, so you can always choose one of the two and pay SGD240, or go ahead and do both for SGD480. Do note that only items which come in Goyardine canvas (inclusive of SLGs) and recently purchased in the boutique at Takashimaya Shopping Centre (or up to 3 months prior) are offered the personalisation service. That means if you purchased it in January or February 2020, you’re still eligible.

Now, here’s an extra piece of good news for those of you based in Singapore, because the boutique at Takashimaya Shopping Centre will be engaging an artisan in-store to showcase a part of the personalisation process (touch-ups and refinements) on 13 March 2020. In other words, it is a good time to visit (early afternoon after lunch) if you’ve always wanted to view the process in person. Any other questions?

Hey Alvin, I was able to personalise my Boeing bag at HK Peninsula store two years ago. I decided to go for it again with the first one, the Croisiere which I got in 2006. They still accepted it. I wonder if this is a new rule where it has be recently purchased?

As far as I’m aware this rule is applicable to Singapore’s Goyard operations only. As for the rules in other countries I’m not 100% sure. Sorry.
