Moncler Genius entered its third edition at Milan Fashion Week this February, presenting a creative line-up with Craig Green, JW Anderson, Richard Quinn and Simone Rocha, all of whom displayed their designs in a huge warehouse space filled with heady lights and music. In total, there were 12 brands invited for Moncler Genius this year, one of which is famed luggage-maker RIMOWA (interestingly, this is RIMOWA’s third collaboration with the brand) that created an impressive new edition titled ‘Reflection’, which integrates technology with travel. The luggage is equipped with a programmable LED screen that showcases words running across in a ticker-tape format, which can be controlled via a custom-built app that you can download and customise as you please.

The good news is that there will be not one, but two versions of the Moncler x RIMOWA luggage, both of which come in the same size and shape as the Original Cabin. The second format sans LED screen will be sold at RIMOWA boutiques as well, while the aforementioned version with a programmable LED screen will only be released exclusively at Moncler.

The 2020 Moncler x RIMOWA design comes in an ultra-shiny mirrored aluminium (hence ‘reflection’), equipped with exclusive travel accessories (a dark grey luggage tag and luggage belt) for you to complete the look. On the inside, you will find silver packing cubes that are constructed from the very same material as Moncler’s padded nylon fabric, helping you stay neat and organised while providing extra cushiony (is that a word?) softness that will keep your contents safe.

There’s currently no word on the exact prices of both designs, but you can expect them to be made available in limited quantities over at the respective boutiques from June 2020. In other words, stay tuned for more updates to come.
