Ever wondered what would happen if the Gate Bucket and Hammock fell in love and had a love child? Well, it would be the Balloon Bag, an all-new silhouette from the Spanish luxury house that carries signature elements from her ‘parents’. From the leather top handles and drawstring closure of the Hammock to the structured circular base (along with the embossed Loewe Anagram on the underside) of the Gate Bucket, you can say that the Balloon Bag is the proud product of this union. But much better.

Crafted using two types of leather, with the rigid leather base constructed from robust calf leather, while the supple body is made of the finest Nappa that’s smooth in (the bag is left unlined) and out. Together, they form a single bag known as the Balloon Bag, which has officially launched in three sizes today.

The Small comes with an elongated strap that can be slung across the body or carried on the shoulder, seeing how it can be adjusted to various drop lengths ranging from 49 cm to 57 cm. The bag measures 25 cm by 18 cm, which is anything but small, and considering the fact that the voluminous body can be filled up so long as you can secure everything via the drawstring closure, the Small is honestly a great size for the everyday.

Now, for those who love the silhouette but prefer something bigger, that’s where the Medium and Large come in. Both bags are equipped with an extra leather strap that allow for alternative ways of carrying. Some options include sliding it over your arm like a chic handbag, or carrying the Balloon Bag by hand, so it looks like a cool shopper/tote. Both sizes are equally desirable, so it all comes down to whichever you prefer. The Medium measures 31 cm by 21.5 cm, while the Large comes in at 35 cm by 24.5 cm.

Today, Loewe has officially launched the Balloon Bag in single-toned leather options like Black, Soft White, Tan, Taupe and Vintage Khaki, with prices starting from SGD3500 for the Small, going up to SGD4350 and SGD4850 for the Medium and Large. Also, great news for those who love canvas, just look out for the pieces in Ecru/Tan (shown above) which feature a mix of canvas/calfskin, priced slightly lower for the Small (SGD3100) and Medium (SGD3700).
