Hermès Kelly Pocket Compact Wallet

It’s pretty amazing how Hermès decides which bags and SLGs from its respective collections get into production first, operating on another cycle altogether when it comes to releasing the products for sale at boutiques around the world. Even though we’re right in the swing of 2020, pieces like the Mini Constance Belt Bag or the slouchy Double Sens from the Fall-Winter 2019 collection have yet to arrive in stores, while the Kelly Pocket Compact Wallet was only released earlier this year, despite being part of the Pre-Fall 2019 collection which was shown a year ago in January 2019.

While it appeared in a luscious exotic version on the runway, the current pieces in the boutiques come in options like Chevre, Epsom and Madame leather, with prices starting from SGD2100. For those who are slightly confused, Epsom and Madame are both embossed calfskins, but the latter comes with a finer grain and is slightly softer to the touch, which puts it at a slight premium over Epsom.

The Kelly Pocket Compact Wallet is essentially a miniaturised version of the Kelly range of wallets, functioning as a cardholder and zipped change purse all at once. The front is embellished with the Kelly lock (sans straps), which makes it relatively easy to open and reach for your contents within. Flip it to the back, and you will find a pocket for coins, finished with the signature padlock that doubles up as the zip pull. Measuring 13 cm by 10 cm, this handy SLG will be able to fit into most bags (yes, even the Kelly Pochette or the coveted Mini Lindy), which is perfect for ladies who love the Kelly Wallet but find it a tad too big for the everyday.

In Singapore, you will be able to find it in colours like Anemone, Étain, Étoupe and Noir, paired with GHW or PHW. As always, pieces are up on a first-come-first-served basis, so you should head down to the boutiques ASAP to secure your piece.
