Chanel Fine Jewellery: All About The Camélia

The delicate camellia was often regarded as one of the favourite accessories of Mademoiselle Chanel, who paired it like a fancy jewel against a tweed jacket or her signature little black dress. Word has it that camellias were also found on the Chinese coromandel screens in her apartment and something that has gone on to become an icon of the French luxury house.

The perfect embodiment of femininity (thanks to its perfectly round geometric curves), the emblematic camellia was chosen as the key inspiration behind an entire collection of fine jewellery pieces known as the Camélia. Today, the series consists of brooches, earrings, necklaces, pendants and rings, all of which are crafted in 18K gold and come adorned with a dazzling diamond right in the middle.

For 2020, Chanel continues to push the boundaries further with brand new additions under Extrait de Camélia, all of which come in 18K pink gold that complements all skin tones beautifully. The key theme lies in their versatility, as several pieces come with possibilities of wearing in multiple ways. Take the Extrait de Camélia Transformable Ring (SGD13,500) for example, a lovely ring which can be worn on one or two fingers by giving a simple push to configure the orientation as you please. Another exciting creation unveiled earlier this year is the Extrait de Camélia Hoop Earrings (SGD8200) which can be fashionably paired with the classic Extrait de Camélia Ear Studs (SGD6800) for a full-on more-is-more effect.

Moving on to the breathtaking creations under the Camélia Précieux range, pieces include the Ear Studs (SGD23,350), Necklace (SGD14,450) and Open Ring (SGD13,950), all of which are crafted in 18K white gold and filled with diamonds for a true statement-maker.

The Pétales de Camélia jewellery pieces are part of the classic range that was introduced last year, featuring the 18K yellow gold camellia that’s proportionately curved to follow the lines on the body. And if you need a refresher of the pieces, take a look at the Curved Ring (SGD13,400), Necklace (SGD12,800) and Single Earring (SGD11,300), all of which are furnished with a vivid centre diamond.

Yes, the Camélia is gorgeous in pictures, but even more gorgeous in person, and you can appreciate them up close now at Chanel’s Fine Jewellery Boutique located at Level 1 of Takashimaya Shopping Centre.
