Daniel Arsham had a whirlwind of a year in 2019, having collaborated with big-name brands like Dior for their Spring-Summer 2020 collection (which is now available in boutiques islandwide, by the way) and Rimowa with the Eroded Attaché Edition that was only sold in limited quantities around the world. Daniel went on to close the year with Selfridges, in an impressive pop-up store that featured products created in line with his idea of ‘fictional archaeology’. These were essentially reimagined versions of the everyday objects of today, and how they would look when they are unearthed and discovered again in the future.

A key product from the pop-up would have to be Bang & Olufsen’s Beoplay A9 speaker that was given Arsham’s touch, with an image of a cool blue moon that’s derived from the original oil painting done by the artist himself. The moon is a nod to Daniel’s love for outer space and the universe in general, fitting perfectly in line with the sculptural quality of the speakers. Finished with a trio of white-stained oak legs and a silver-tone anodised aluminium ring, it is touches like these that truly speak luxe.

Known for being one of the most powerful home speakers in the market today, it has features like Active Room Compensation that adjusts the sound experience according to the surroundings and the speaker placement. With seven full-range drivers, you can expect a truly immersive sound experience like no other. The speaker is also equipped with Google Assistant that allows you to control it by voice, along with compatibility with Apple’s AirPlay for you to connect wirelessly. Other features include the ability to use hand gestures across the surface (sliding up and down will allow you to change the volume) or do a tap to pause, play and skip respectively.

The good news is that you wouldn’t have to fly down to London just to purchase it because it is available over at END for SGD3895. Note that it’s priced at EUR3000 in the European region, which makes it a rather good deal over at END. In other words, time to hit this link for your own out-of-this-world sound experience.
