If there is something your makeup kit will be craving in the new year, it will be Chanel’s new Spring-Summer 2020 makeup line. Named Desert Dream, the range is characterised by rose tones, cool browns and nuances of mauve, all of which echo the desert’s famous orange dunes, sacred cave paintings and lunar plains with products that deliver a sensual soft focus, making everything look dreamier than usual.

The collection boasts a total of 15 products but if you must choose one thing to stock up on, it would be the Baume Essentiel in a limited-edition Golden Light shade (SGD69). The unreleased colour was first seen backstage at the runway show back in September 2019 and was used to give the models’ complexion an effortless warm and illuminated sun-kissed glow. Besides applying the multi-use glow stick on the highs of the cheeks, forehead, bridge of the nose and chin, it can also be used on the eyelids and lips to cast a soft glow for a fresh finish.

Other standout products include the collector-worthy Éclat Du Désert (SGD92), a shimmering pink-beige highlighter with distinctive contours of the desert’s sand dunes etched on its surface, and 2 gorgeous lip colours, Rouge Allure 191 Rouge Brûlant (a vivid, orange pink) and Rouge Allure Velvet Extreme 132 Endless (an ultra-matte warm rosewood), which have captured the desert’s extreme heat at SGD52 each.
