It’s has been awhile since Saint Laurent introduced an all-new top handle bag, considering most of the pieces you’ve seen of late include WOCs or crossbody bags that could be considered more casual yet fun pieces. And then there’s the Cassandra Top Handle Bag, a structured handbag which comes in a trapezoid silhouette, furnished with ample compartments and a roomy interior that makes it perfect for ladies on the hunt for a sleek and stylish bag that’s equally great for work.

Take a closer look at the YSL initials on the Cassandra, because this isn’t your typical decorative logo, but rather one that comes with actual function. You would have to open the bag by pushing the L and lifting the Y, before you can access your contents within. Flip the Cassandra to the back and you will find another open pocket, which is definitely a plus for keeping notes, receipts and the like.

Currently available in a single size (Medium) that measures 24.5 cm by 20 cm, it comes with options that include a smooth leather/suede combo and a shiny croc-embossed leather. If, however, you prefer an exterior that will withstand the test of time (from daily wear and tear) and is resistant to scratches, go for the ones in Grain de Poudre embossed leather, which comes in classic colour options like Black, Dark Green and Dark Smog.
