There are statement bags, and then there are statement pieces from Hermès, a creation which virtually had their house thrown at for their Holiday 2019 collection. Known as the Sac Birkin Faubourg, you could say it is a mini representation of their FSH flagship in Paris, complete with store windows topped with that iconic orange awning.

Technically a Birkin 20 but given that collectible-of-the-year treatment, it is also a bag that seems to be a combination of least 5 different leathers, Epsom, Madame, Sombrero, Swift, as well as exotic matte croc, with different leathers giving the piece extra marks when it comes to detailing. You can almost imagine the amount of craftsmanship and precision that goes into the bag, especially when everything has to be layered exactly to get that slight 3D effect.

No word yet on when this work of art will arrive on our shores (or if it even will), but if you are a hardcore fan of the French luxury house whose only goal in life is to attain all their holy grail pieces, you know what to do.
