Gucci boutiques at ION Orchard and Paragon now have in-store Gucci Beauty Parlours where you can shop and swatch all 58 shades from its luscious lipstick collection. Bagaholicbebe sat down on the new plush-pink sofa with celebrated beauty expert Larry Yeo (click here to check out his IG account) to talk about the Gucci Beauty Lipstick collection, and here are the surprising tips and tricks she found out.

01 – All 58 lipsticks are divided into 3 formulas with different finishes: satin, sheer and balm. But no matter what you choose, all lipsticks are designed to keep your pout well-conditioned, thanks to its coconut oil-spiked blend. So, the longer you leave it on, the more moisturised your pout actually gets.

02 – Because using just one lipstick colour can cause the lips to look flat, it’s best to layer a few lipsticks with different finishes to give more definition and dimension. For a plumped-up pout, layer lipstick finishes in this order – balm, satin and sheer. Another tip? Larry suggests layering shades that are slightly contrasting to allow the colours to pop more. For example if you’re using a red hue first, apply a sheer fuchsia on the centre of the lips afterwards for a fuller lip look.

03 – If you’re seeking a more pigmented finish, use a lip brush for application. This gives more control when it comes to the amount of product used and creates well-defined lines. For a more translucent finish, use the lipstick straight from the bullet and blend using your fingers. For added soft creamy glow, use the nude 103 Carol Beige on your eyelids and high points of your cheeks.

04 – These lipsticks aren’t just for the lips; 3 select shades have also been approved and are safe to use around the eye area as an eyeshadow. For starters, there’s 1 Joslyn Clair, a clear balm for a glossy finish. For added definition, use the nude 103 Carol Beige and for a lived-in smoky eye, opt for 700 Crystal Black.

05 – And because the ultra-moisturising formulas are extremely easy to blend, you can use them as a blush or contour too. For a natural flush, opt for more vibrant shades such as 25 Goldie Red, 301 Mae Coral or 404 Cassie Magenta. For those with medium skin tones, try 506 Louisa Red.

The technique? Apply a generous amount of lipstick on the fatty part of your palm, just below the thumb, rub both palm areas together to blend and pat lightly onto both cheeks before tapping in for a natural finish. If you have dryer skin, opt for the sheer formula. And to contour, pick up the nude 107 A Royal Scandal, draw straight onto the chosen areas and blend away.
