On 8 October 2019, Chanel held a ceremony to mark the completion of the structural work of #Le19M, their new multi-disciplinary hub in Paris that’s dedicated entirely to everything Métiers d’Art, which includes houses like Goossens, Lemarié, Lesage, Lognon, Maison Michel, Massaro and Montex, amongst others. The enormous complex that will span over 25,000 square metres was created to preserve the crafts and heritage of the storied ateliers which might otherwise have been lost, a worthy cause that has been close to the heart of Chanel.

Constructed with the highest levels in environmental standards, the hub will go as far as honouring the Paris climate plan while promoting energy efficiency that’s certainly commendable on the Parisian luxury brand’s part. The space will be officially opened in the third quarter of 2020 and will comprise 5 floors and 2 basements that will bring all of Chanel’s 30 Maisons d’art under one single roof. Set to house some 5000 staff, it’s designed to be a single, unified space for innovation and sustainable development in years to come.
