Cartier Santos de Cartier: The Art Of Accessorising

The Santos de Cartier is no stranger to you; the legendary timepiece that dates back to 1904 when Louis Cartier sought to create a watch for the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont. Over a century later, the wristwatch has undergone numerous refinements, like in the 1970s when Cartier relaunched it in a two-tone steel and yellow gold model and introduced shiny bracelet straps in place of the original leather strap. Then came 2004’s rendition of the Santos 100 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the iconic watch.

Today, the iconic watch predominantly comes in 2 versions, the Santos-Dumont (a quartz watch with a case thickness of just 7.3 mm), along with the Santos de Cartier which comes in either calibre 1847 MC (an in-house Cartier movement) or an automatic winding caliber 1904-CH MC in the chronograph versions. The key feature of this Santos de Cartier watch? Its QuickSwitch interchangeability system, giving you added flexibility to change the straps easily without the need for fancy tools or special assistance.

Now, aside from timepieces, Cartier is also renowned for its accessories and jewellery, with a generous line-up of pieces found in the extended Santos family that’s great for those who believe in dressing up in complementary pieces. Expect to find jewellery rendered in sterling silver, 18k white gold or 18k yellow gold (or a combination of two), timeless pieces which embody a modest elegance that’s perfect for men. There’s even an assortment of Santos de Cartier Cufflinks that predominantly come in palladium-finished sterling silver and bear iconic elements like exposed screws and octagonal shapes that pay homage to the iconic watch.

Then there are accessories like an unmistakable Santos de Cartier Money Clip (SGD410), as well as a good range of Santos de Cartier pens (from SGD450) just so you can leave a good impression with whomever you are meeting. As for those who believe that one should never leave the house without a solid pair of sunnies, you can turn to the Santos de Cartier sunglasses (from SGD670) in cool aviator styles (paying homage to the Brazilian aviator himself) which come in a plethora of colour options to choose from.
