The Ordinary: 5 Fan Favourites To Shop

If you haven’t already heard, Canadian company Deciem’s most affordable skincare line The Ordinary is rumoured to be launching in Singapore. Last heard from a little bird, you might just be able to start shopping the products come October 2019. Fingers crossed. The empirical brand is known for its well-priced, no-frills skincare basics and in particular, these 5 fan favourites you won’t want to miss.

01Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 is a straightforward hydration serum that does the job. As its name suggests, it contains hyaluronic acid that can attract up to 1,000 times its weight in water and together with Vitamin B5 that enhances skin’s surface hydration, the serum delivers the promise of dewy and well-hydrated skin.

02 – Use Lactic Acid 5% + HA 2% in lieu of other exfoliants for glowing and smooth skin. At 5%, the lactic acid (AHA) in this serum offers a mild exfoliation, an option for those who want to try a chemical exfoliant but have sensitive skin (when unsure, always do a patch test before). The cocktail also has hyaluronic acid to prevent skin from drying out.

03 – For those with oily skin, you’ll want to try the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. Brimming with a high concentration of anti-inflammatory niacinamide and mattifying zinc, this serum works to reduce the look of blemishes and pores, as well as balance congestion, acne-prone skin and sebum levels.

04 – Post-cleanse, saturate a cotton pad with the chemical exfoliant Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution and sweep it across the face and neck for skin that looks brighter, clearer and smoother. It’s worth noting that reviews also mention this combats multiple signs of ageing, blackheads, whiteheads and even blemishes. You’ll want to use this at night and don’t leave home without sunscreen the next day.

05 – If you’re not sure what to shop from The Ordinary’s offering of more than 50 skincare products or are simply seeking a do-it-all, a bottle of the “Buffet” + Copper Peptides 1%, which does a little bit of everything, might just be for you. The serum is a blend of different peptides that target multiple signs of ageing (such as dehydration, fine lines and age spots) and also contains copper tripeptides, an antidote for stressed-out complexions. Sounds as good as an all-you-can-eat buffet, for your skin.
