The name of Christian Dior’s latest Spice Blend fragrance says it all but its scent is not quite what you might expect. The aromatic-spicy juice, described as one that sits at the crossroads of spices with a powerful signature, is one that is simultaneously fresh and fiery. The inspiration? An exotic image, from Dior’s perfume-creator François Demachy’s childhood, of a bottle of the famous Bay Rum lotion sitting in his father’s pharmacy.
While spices are generally used sparingly in fragrances, Demachy used an unusually concentrated blend to compose a direct translation of his distinct memory. The result? A spicy-sweet EDP that leaves an impression of rum, and one that emphasises warmth and reviving freshness.
The unisex fragrance, which uplifts and stimulates, is underlined by a surprising multitude of lively and piquant spices like Madagascan black pepper and ginger essence, as well as Chinese cinnamon, with fruity and vanilla notes. Just like the creation of a dish, the spices complement each other and come together nicely to ensure the perfect balance.
Piqued your interest? This is definitely one of the fragrances you’ll have to experience in the flesh. Catch a whiff of the Christian Dior Spice Blend (from SGD140 for 40 ml) from 1 August 2019 at Maison Christian Dior ION Orchard.
