This won’t be the first time you’ve seen an ombre lipstick, but it’s definitely the first time for one with six layers. Laneige has adopted an all-new approach for its Two Tone Lip Bar by upping the lip game to offer the world’s first six-layer gradated lipstick in the form of the new Layering Lip Bar.

More affectionately described as the kueh lapis of lipsticks, each bullet offers six complementary colours that blend seamlessly together in a single application to give a visually volumising effect for fuller lips and a more luminous finish. The other plus point? It offers a more natural colour gradient as compared to its predecessor and is surprisingly easy to pull off.

Today, there are two finishes to choose from. Cream, for a juicy-lip finish and long-lasting hydration, in 14 shades; and Matte, a lightweight formula that delivers rich colour payoff with a semi-matte, non-drying finish, in 6 shades. With a total of 20 shades, there’s really something for everyone. And to save you the trouble, here are the ultra-flattering shades to start shopping.

For starters, there’s No.14 Candid Brick created to enhance the natural colour of your pout to give a my-lips-but-better effect and No.15 Shy Beige, a nude-brick hue that will allow you to effortlessly nail the milk tea makeup trend. There’s also No.6 Alluring Red, a universally flattering coral shade for every occasion and No.17 No Doubt Coral, a beautiful marriage of orange and red tones that will instantly brighten the complexion. One more thing. You’ll want to apply the darker colour in the inner area of the lips for a natural gradient effect.

Priced at SGD39, Laneige’s Layering Lip Bar is now available on Lazada and will be available at all Laneige boutiques and counters in Singapore from 19 July 2019.
