H&M Announces 2019 Designer Collaboration With Giambattista Valli

H&M has finally revealed its annual guest designer collaboration for 2019, and it’s none other than Giambattista Valli, the master of modern day haute couture, renowned for his use of organza and tulle fabric in his designs. Valli may be Italian (he was born in Rome), but he moved over to Paris as it was always his dream of creating his very own haute couture brand. He launched his own RTW line in 2005, but the defining moment of his career was in 2011, when he presented his very first couture collection after being accepted as an official member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture.

The main collection will officially launch on 7 November 2019, but H&M is doing something different this year by releasing several pieces in a pre-collection drop on 25 May just a day after announcing their partnership at the amfAR gala in Cannes. Pieces worn by celebrities like Bianca Brandolini d’Adda, Chiara Ferragni, Chris Lee (Li Yuchun), H.E.R. and Ross Lynch (a full menswear look) will all be available. If you’re wondering, Kendall’s ‘Barbie Pink’ tulle gown is an exclusive show look which will be put up for auction, while a shorter version known as the Maria Dress will be launched instead, a chic tulle dress that’s priced at SGD449.

The other dresses and gowns in this pre-collection will start at SGD349 for the Elsa Dress, going up to the SGD849 for the gorgeous white Rosie Dress worn by H.E.R.. The men shouldn’t feel left out either, with shirts going for SGD139 each, blazers priced at SGD299 each, as well as shorts and trousers that go for SGD109 and SGD139 respectively. Note that this is also Giambattista Valli’s first collection to feature menswear, which is good news for men who have always wanted to own (and wear) a piece of Valli. Now, if you’re all for accessories rather than RTW looks, you can consider the sparkly belt, tiaras and necklaces with prices starting from SGD64.95. Or, kick it off with the Stud Loafer and Heart Heel (SGD349), one each for him and for her, ahead of the main collection that will be released worldwide on 7 November 2019.

Only 12 stores worldwide will be getting the pre-launch collection in-store. In Asia, that would be Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai and Tokyo. Elsewhere, you can try your luck in Germany, Kuwait, London, Melbourne, Milan, NYC, Paris and Stockholm. For everyone else, you can head over here at 1600 hours (SG time) on 25 May, where the pre-collection will be available at HM.com for all your shopping pleasure. #Project🖤
