Gucci X Mickey Mouse Top Handle

Has fashion truly lost its head? With Gucci, it might seem so, but instead of walking around without a head, the Italian luxury house suggests you carry one, Mickey Mouse’s to be exact, sans body. Yes, to celebrate the 90th birthday of Disney’s much-beloved Mickey, Alessandro Michele decided to pay homage by decapitating the icon and turning him into, you guessed it, a handbag.

According to Gucci, it is ‘created using a printed 3-D technique’, which must be really expensive since the asking price for the one above is estimated to be around SGD5300. Which is a lot for printed plastic, but you’re not just buying a plastic head, you’re buying into the iconography of Alessandro’s Gucci. Besides the one above, there’s also the one in white with the bloody-looking graffiti? That’s around SGD6300. Lastly, it is said there will be a plain all-white version as well, which will retail for the same as first one.

How to get one? Troop down to Gucci in Singapore, pay your deposit in full and expect a pretty crazy wait, less if you’re lucky.
