Leather SLGs which come with an extra long strap are certainly gaining traction from rising labels like Jacquemus to luxury brands like Loewe and Prada. You’ve seen the Le Gadjo earlier in the year, and it’s also worth noting that Loewe has its very own version called the Heel Pouch, as well as Prada’s Saffiano Strap Holder that comes in options for both men and women.

Today, the spotlight falls on Acne Studios’ very own take, one that’s also known as the Coin Purse, or rather Coin Purse 2.0. Here’s why. The Stockholm-based label unveiled the first version of the purse back in 2018, one that opened to a single origami-esque compartment that could fit about a week’s worth of coins. This year, the design team has updated it (hence the 2.0) to include a slot for cards, with a roomy inner back compartment for coins and keys.

Coming in slightly wider at 10 cm by 7 cm (version 1.0 stood at 7 cm by 6 cm), the Coin Purse is furnished with the same snap button closure, as well as a thin, removable leather strap with a screw detailing that takes design cues from a barrel clasp typically found on a necklace. With a strap drop of 50 cm, you could even sling it across the body, or hook it onto your jeans’ belt loop for a cool, streetwear touch.

Available in colours like Black, Cognac Brown or Dark Blue, the Coin Purse (EUR190), which you can purchase over at Acne Studios’ e-store right now, is made from 100% cow leather in Italy. And they do offer complimentary standard shipping to Singapore, so go forth and get in on the trend.
