AMBUSH began as an experimental line of jewellery created by Tokyo-based fashion icons VERBAL and YOON in 2008, before they expanded and subsequently made their debut out of Japan in Hong Kong and Paris in 2015. From Zip Tie rings and bracelets rendered in sterling silver to the iconic Timeless Watch Bracelet (essentially a watch reinterpreted as a jewellery piece without a timekeeping function), AMBUSH has solidified its status as a cult brand known for its quirky-cool jewellery pieces.
Most recently, the label unveiled a 2019 special for the new year, the Good Luck Necklace, which is also rather apt as an accessory for the upcoming Lunar New Year. Made from 925 silver, the necklace features the word 福 (fortune or good luck) that’s turned upside down. When directly translated, the pronunciation of ‘upside down fortune’ has a similar ring to ‘fortune is arriving’ in Chinese, which is why it is commonly hung on doors to usher in the Lunar New Year. Or in this case, worn around the neck to carry good fortune all day long.
Adjustable to 2 lengths (50/55 cm), the unisex necklace is priced at USD248 (or SGD338) after conversion, and available in either a gold or silver finish. Get it online via AMBUSH where they do ship to Singapore as well.
