Think of Furla and a number of its signature bags will immediately come to mind. Two of them include the evergreen Metropolis which comes in a wide array of colours and finishings, as well as the Piper, a go-to piece finished with a single top handle and an additional strap that will make for a great work bag. Come January, an all-new bag will join the family, one that looks set to become a Furla icon in its very own right.
Named Mimi, the rectangular flap bag is characterised by a simple press-lock closure right in front that keeps it fuss-free with a minimalist aesthetic. Armed with a chain link strap, the bag can be worn long across the body or over the shoulder, or even looped twice to be worn short under the arm like a cute handbag. There’s even an extra pocket at the back to keep several quick access cards easily within reach.
Now, on to the sizes, there are just two for now. The Mimi S Crossbody (SGD675) that comes in at 24 cm by 16 cm, and a Mimi Mini Crossbody (SGD555), which is a tad bit smaller at 20 cm by 13 cm, both of which are priced reasonably well for a flap bag that’s made and assembled by hand in Italy. Now, before you get all excited and head on down to your nearest Furla boutique, know that the Mimi family of bags will only be launched from early January 2019, with the full collection coming in colours like Camellia, Chalk, Mandarin, Lime and Onyx. Which have you got your eye on?
