MIKIMOTO: On A Journey From Day To Night

MIKIMOTO is famed for its iconic strands of pearl necklaces, that’s a clear given, but did you know that the Japanese-founded jewellery brand has a number of collections that integrate its iconic Akoya pearls with gold and other precious stones, all made for the fashionable individual? These include jewellery pieces that can be worn throughout the day, to be changed up as you deem fit. And if you need a visual reference, follow her as she journeys from day to night over on @bagaholicboy’s Instagram, with a number of pieces from the respective MIKIMOTO collections shared in detail below.

In the day, she’s decked out in the Lucky Motif collection, to chase away any blues she has. On her wrist sits a bracelet featuring a gold butterfly dazzling with diamonds, complete with an 18K pink gold chain and 4 beautifully round Akoya pearls. On her neck, she’s layered on two pendants, one with a pink gold key, and another with a four leaf clover that makes for the perfect ‘lucky’ piece.

At noon, she opts for pieces with a bit more zest as seen in the Coral collection. The pendant in 18K pink gold comes attached to an Akoya pearl, with a length of 49 cm that will sit nicely on any lady’s neck. The bracelet, on the other hand, has a matching coral element with several pearls, and if you’re thinking about the swing she’s on? Well, that’s also a necklace from the Coral collection.

Winding down to night, she’s all about the classic and dazzling, opting for the key pieces in the ‘M’ collection that’s all about the white South Sea cultured pearl (known for its beautiful lustre and appearance that varies under different light conditions) set on an ‘M’-shaped 18K white gold structure. The pierced earrings are a great statement piece, with the complementary pendant making up the perfect pair of accessories. The ring comes with a rounded base that will sit comfortably on the finger, finished with a round pearl and diamonds to complete the glamorous evening look.
