Louis Vuitton Les Parfums Candles

When Louis Vuitton introduced its first collection of fragrances for women back in 2016 and subsequently for men in 2018, it wasn’t just about perfecting the various scents within each bottle, but also to achieve a level of design aesthetics outside that was uniquely LV. And that attention to detail has been carried over to a new addition to the Les Parfums collection, namely the 4 new candles designed by Marc Newson. Housed in handmade ceramic jars finished beautifully with natural leather handles, they also echo the French luxury house’s mantra of The Spirit of Travel since they can be brought along on all your travels thanks to its portability.

Lift off the gold-finished metal lid (which also doubles up as a base) and you find a fragrant candle within. Poured in Grasse, there are four scents to keep an eye (and nose) out for, fragrances imagined by Master Perfumer Jacques Cavalier Belletrud which promises to capture scents drawn from landscapes and natural settings discovered while travelling.

The four fragrances also take you to specific moments of the day, starting with L’Air du Jardin, that speaks of renewal and eternal refinement, carrying with it a vaporous scent of rose centifolia. Îlo Blanche, on the other hand, is all about embodying the contrast between the purity of water and incandescent afternoon sun. Combined with cardamom, jasmine sambac, neroli and orange, the scent creates a feeling of being transported to a secluded island thousands of miles away.

Moving on to Feuilles d’Or, which is inspired by forest and woods in the evening, and paying an homage to Indonesian patchouli. Softened with geranium, Peruvian balsam and Virginia cedar, this is one scent that carries with it a sense of comfort and security. Rounding up the four is Dehors Il Neige, which is all about the fine balance of fiery cinnamon and star anise with sweet notes of aldehydes and raspberry, channelling the feeling of standing by a fireplace on a snowy winter’s night.

Priced at SGD310 for a 220 g jar, the scented candles will only be available at Louis Vuitton Takashimaya Shopping Centre from 5 November 2018. Which makes it just in time for a good gift in the upcoming year-end festivity. Yes, in case you’ve completely lost track of time, we’re down to the last quarter of the year, with Christmas just two months away. In other words, it is time to start shopping, guys.
