Luxury beauty boutique Escentials is known for its curation and style, housing a plethora of makeup, fragrance and skincare brands that range from popular to cult, and to the uber niche. The one commonality that they all share? Gorgeous designs and cutting-edge technology.

Something else the multi-label store has made a name for itself in is its ability to suss out buzzy, must-have brands before they hit the big league. Here, we break down the three new-to-Singapore names that can be found at Escentials.

01 – Lancer
Whether you’re a fan of Kim Kardashian or not, one thing you have to admit is that she has great skin. And the reality star credits her clear complexion to the Lancer Method. Dr. Harold Lancer is not just dermatologist to the stars (he counts Beyonce, Margot Robbie and Michelle Williams as clients), he also has an active global patient base of over 30,000 people.

Dr Lancer believes in training the skin to look good by stimulating cell renewal. And while the skincare brand has a ton of awesome products, it’s probably most known for The Method. The three-step regime promises to transform your skin in just one week and consists of – you guessed it – just three products to be used twice daily.

The first is The Method: Polish (SGD120), a gentle exfoliator made with magnesium crystal and pumpkin enzymes to gently yet effectively remove dull, dry surface cells and soften skin. Follow this with The Method: Cleanse (SGD89). This creamy cleanser has a rich yet silky texture that helps to balance, soothe and hydrate the complexion.

Finish up with The Method: Nourish (SGD200), an anti-ageing moisturiser infused with avocado and olive fruit oils to plump, smooth and renew skin. Now the regime might seem basic, but the results are anything but. After just two weeks, our complexion looked and felt softer, younger and healthier. It’s definitely a must-try.

02 – GESGEP
Created by two of South Korea’s most popular makeup artists, Son Dae Sik and Park Tae Yoon,  this Asian makeup and skincare brand is all about enhancing your natural beauty so you still look like you, but better. The duo has even worked with actresses like Song Hye Kyo and Gianna Jun, and is regularly seen backstage at New York and Paris fashion weeks.

Its products are a perfect example of everything we love about K-beauty; it perfects your complexion and leaves it with a dewy glow that doesn’t look as if you have anything on. The textures are lightweight and watery, so they meld into your skin effortlessly when you apply them.

And while GESGEP’s colour range is definitely pretty, what truly impressed us was its base makeup. One of its star products is the One Veil 1ster (SGD50), a soothing and hydrating primer that helps your makeup stay on longer and leaves you looking radiant and luminescent.

The One Drop Perfection (SGD60) is a concealer-like foundation that provides high coverage with just one drop. Extremely light and suitable for all skin types, it contains nourishing ingredients like vitamin B5 to strengthen skin’s protective barrier.

03 – L:a Bruket

Founded in 2009, this Swedish coastal skincare brand draws its inspiration from the 200 years of spa traditions that made the area famous. All its products are manufactured in Sweden, using ingredients with the highest level of natural and organic content.

The label not only believes in being natural and sustainable, but functionality is also a big part of its philosophy. This is why all of its bottles are brown and opaque to protect the contents from sunlight and to better preserve the product. It is also the reason why the function of the essential oils is primary to the scent itself.

Love their 167 Broccoli Seed Serum (SGD82), an energy-boosting serum that is rich in antioxidants to protect skin and boost cell renewal. It not only perks up tired complexions, it also has calming, hydrating and soothing benefits.

Something that is great for Singapore’s humid weather is the Body Lotion (SGD62), which comes in five scents. Easily absorbed and weightless, it nourishes skin and calms irritation with a mixture of shea butter, coconut oil and cocoa butter. Available in stores in November 2018.
