Gucci Small Shoulder Bag With Tiger Head

Gucci. The storied Italian luxury house that we have all come to know and love has truly done it all (well, almost) under the reign of Alessandro Michele. He has designed bags that come in gorgeous floral designs (think GG Bloom), to reinventing the wheel by bringing back archival shapes like Ophidia and Sylvie, to creating cult favourites like GG Marmont which come in various shapes and sizes, identified by the matelassé chevron leather.

The focus on today’s post is something new for F/W18, one that also resonates with Michele’s love of classic yet opulent hardware. A small gusseted leather shoulder that’s finished with two different things. First there’s the Interlocking G Horsebit chain detail that’s the lovechild of Gucci signatures the GG logo and the horsebit. Then there’s the tiger head that’s decorated with crystals and coloured enamel, inspired by vintage brooches designed by legendary jewellery designer Hattie Carnegie in the 20s.

Opening via a hidden clasp mechanism to a single compartment that’s furnished with both a slot pocket and a zipped compartment, it measures some 22.5 cm by 15.5 cm, which is technically roomy enough for a good day out. Prefer something larger? Then go up a size and get the medium that is 27.5 cm across by 17.5 cm.

Priced at SGD3280 and SGD3870 respectively, both sizes will come in gorgeous colours like Black, Burgundy (shown above), Green and White. You just need to head on down to any Gucci boutique in Singapore to check them all out and decide which of these will become your instant vintage classic.
