Calvin Klein has launched something major: Women, the first fragrance by chief creative officer Raf Simons since he joined the brand in 2016. The perfume has dropped in most parts of the world and will finally be making its way to Singapore come 27 September 2018. And yes, it’s worth the wait to catch a whiff of the addictive woody-floral. But more about the scent in a bit.

The juice is the first new fragrance pillar for the house in 13 years and as you would have guessed from its name, the scent is a celebration of women and is inspired by the multifaceted roles that women play.

The fragrance is represented by inspiring women, both past and present, with a campaign fronted by actresses Lupita Nyong’o and Saoirse Ronan, along with the icons who have shaped their identities, as creatives, and as women. Nyong’o chose entertainment trailblazer Eartha Kitt and actress Katharine Hepburn; Ronan went with singer Nina Simone and actress Sissy Spacek.

Adds Raf Simons, ‘With this fragrance, we wanted to put the concept of plurality centre stage. The campaign is an exploration of femininity – a group of women bonded by a common thread; the desire to have the power to create their own identity, and to support and lead the way for those that come after them’.

So what does Calvin Klein’s Women smell like? The pink juice, a woody floral, opens with notes of eucalyptus acorns, has a heart of orange flower, and a dry down of Alaskan cedarwood. On the skin, the scent is clean, comforting, and ever so slightly powdery – a perfect balance of freshness and sensuality.

And don’t you agree the flanker, which features a photographic print of the female eye by artist Anne Collier, is a work of art that will look stunning on any vanity? The Women EdP will be available in three sizes – 30ml (SGD93), 50ml (SGD130) and 100ml (SGD165).
