There was the Dark Knight Tempête in 2016, followed by the Hero Brillant 2017. For 2018, Delvaux has launched the Tempête Gladiator, their third limited edition offering that features a material you normally wouldn’t normally associate with the Belgium luxury house. Yes, that material is thick vinyl, which if you think about it, does require a high level of craftsmanship and expertise before the bag’s iconic shape and unique design is achieved.

Take, for example, the Tempête Gladiator which required some 15 moulds of differently-sized scales that come together on the bag, the scales inspired by the armour knights of yore would wear into the battlefield.

And with colours Antique Gold and Silver in the form of the scales contrasting nicely against the dark grey vinyl, this is also the bag to buy if you want a piece that will stand out most anywhere you go. And despite its heavy use of vinyl, the bag is still lightweight, finished with a top handle and furnished with an additional webbed canvas sling if you need to be handsfree.

Priced at SGD3700 and now available at Delvaux Scotts Square, it is perfect for the modern woman of today. One who doesn’t need to play the damsel in distress in front of men but instead is the one who picks her own knight in shiny armour.
