Louis Vuitton Vanity Bag

No, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you if you find this all-new bag from Louis Vuitton’s Fall-Winter 2018 collection vaguely familiar. Named Vanity Bag, it is actually one that is based on the iconic shape of the Epi Cannes created back in 1994, a rather bulbous beauty case that could have doubled up as a bag for the discerning fashionista back in the day.

And while the original Cannes has been discontinued for quite a while already (it was super ‘in’ back in the 80s), you could instead get your hands on the Vanity Bag that despite looking pretty much like its predecessor does come with many updated (and relevant new features).

Available in a single size for now (18 cm by 15 cm, known as the PM), the bag is much smaller than the original bag, making it much easier to manage and bring out and about. The Vanity Bag also come with a detachable sling that you can hook onto the rings at the side, providing you an alternative way of carrying it either over the shoulder or across the body. Finished with the LV padlock and a Louis Vuitton embossed leather pull tab that’s also new for this bag, this is one bag that’s Vuitton through and through.

The Vanity Bag comes in two options, both of which are now available at Louis Vuitton boutiques islandwide. Choose from a full Epi leather (SGD3250) in either Banane (Light Yellow) or Noir (Black), or go for the Monogram Canvas/Monogram Reverse (SGD3050) that comes with a calf leather trim and gold coloured hardware. The most difficult part? Deciding if you want it sleek in a single colour, or go out with a mishmash of monograms. Because truly, both are equally alluring.
