The minaudière (or clutch, in layman’s speak) from Chanel’s Métiers d’Art 2018 collection doesn’t need a formal introduction by now, a novelty bag from the above-mentioned themed Paris-Hamburg show that was inspired by Karl Lagerfeld’s hometown. A bustling seaport (which would explain why shipping containers have been reinterpreted into bags), there are 7 different colours to choose from, 6 that you see above, and the 7th that you can see pretty clearly here.
Made of resin that’s finished with silver-tone metal and a long sling that’s intertwined with leather, the 19 cm by 9 cm by 8 cm clutch is also as compact as it gets, with just enough space to get you through the night. More importantly though, like the novelty pieces Chanel launches with each new collection, they are definitely collector’s pieces that hardcore fans will find hard to resist. Me included.
