Céline Medium Clasp Handbag

If you hover over the Handbags tab on Céline’s online home, you will find a number of categories that showcase the label’s key bags of the moment. One of them includes Big Bag, which is the latest (and also the very last) silhouette launched under Phoebe Philo’s for the label. Right below it lies the Clasp, an entire family of bags that’s identified by its signature clasp, which adds structure and is also the opening of the bag. First introduced in 2017, the bag has been given seasonal updates in terms of colours and new shapes, but today the focus lies on the Medium Clasp Handbag, one that comes in gorgeous colours for Fall 2018.

With only a single way of carrying – via the top handle, the Medium Clasp Handbag (SGD5400) is the answer to the briefcase ladies have always been on a hunt for. Measuring 32 cm by 22 cm, it is one that’s chic enough for work, yet casual enough for play. The interior comes in a contrasting lining with two inner compartments separated by a zipped pocket in the middle.

If you’re wondering why the bag is priced slightly higher than an average Céline piece, here are two reasons. Firstly, it comes in a structured trapezoid shape, one that’s held together by a metallic clasp closure system that while complicated, is still lightweight. Then there’s the special box calfskin with a patina that only looks better with age and continued usage. Call it that special touch that’s unique to your very own Clasp, if you will. Available in either a Black or Camel for Fall 2018, the bag also comes in an exotic niloticus crocodile in dark green (SGD33,800) that frankly looks divine against that aged gold-tone hardware.
