Givenchy S/S18 Nano GV3

It has been months since Clare Waight Keller took over the reigns at Givenchy (well technically almost half a year since her Spring-Summer 2018 debut show in September 2017) and the fashion world has been patiently waiting for her very first bag from the fabled luxury house. Well, the wait is now over, with the all-new GV3 bag that’s due to be launched on 5 March 2018.

Named after Hubert de Givenchy’s couture atelier on 3 Avenue George V (hence GV3), this new bag will come in a variety of sizes, but for today’s post, the spotlight is on the baby of the family, the Nano GV3.

Technically too small to be classified as a real bag (it measures just 12 cm by 8 cm), it is the culmination of Clare Waight Keller and Givenchy, with elements of both seen across various parts of the bag.

Starting with the most obvious, the double G logo clasp right in front is a simplified version of the quadruple G logo we’ve all come to know and love. On the exterior, the bag comes in a genius mix of leather and suede and finished with just the right amount of vintage-effect gold metal hardware that’s truly characteristic of Clare Waight Keller. Also, the GV3 bag is truly versatile, and it can be carried in not 1, not 2, but 5 ways.

And because #smallisbeautiful, the Nano GV3 will probably be the darling of those looking for something fun, especially since they come in colours that are so easy to match, one in Chestnut suede/Tan leather, while the second comes in Grey suede/Black leather. Priced at SGD1390, it’s also pretty affordable and a great start to many more CWK-Givenchy pieces in your collection.
