Chanel: 2018 Handbag Campaign Starring Kaia Gerber

No, folks, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you; that’s not Cindy Crawford but the fruit of her loins and girl-of-the-moment daughter Kaia Gerber, who’s hotter than melted cheese toast at the moment. Ok, I must be really hungry to have that random food reference added in but here’s something else to whet your appetite for the upcoming Spring-Summer 2018 bag releases from Chanel.

Yes, folks, you’re now savouring the latest handbag ad campaign imagery lensed by Karl Lagerfeld. Shot in Coco Chanel’s Rue Cambon apartment that was pretty much kept intact all these years, it also features a selection of handbags that you’ll soon be able to tuck into once they hit the shelves.

For starters, that’s Ms Gerber with the Gabrielle Hobo, a recent release that’s slowly but surely becoming an icon in its own right.

Next up, the unassuming Vanity Case that’s been quite a regular on Chanel’s shelves lately. It wasn’t promoted as the next ‘it’ bag, but the fact that it has been coming back season after season in different colours and finishes can easily attest to how desirable it is. I mean, who can say no to that adorable boxy shape that’s topped with a short top handle, with a long enough sling to wear it across your body?

The 3rd and final bag (or should I say, bags) in the Kagerfeld-lensed campaign are also the ones I’m pretty excited about. Basically Flap Bag classics with a twist? Look again and you’ll know what I mean. Both bags are actually quilted vinyl, and they will come in the dreamiest of pastel hues, though you can’t really see it now. Much like my imaginary melted cheese toast.
