Prada Resort 2018 James Jean Collaboration

The collaboration between Prada and Taiwanese-American artist James Jean is one that dates back to the Italian label’s Spring-Summer 2008 show, where the central element of said show were James’ illustrations of fairies amongst flowers that were translated into beautiful, ethereal RTW pieces. 10 years on, James Jean makes a return at Prada’s Resort 2018 collection, this time showcasing playful motifs of rabbits and lilies rendered on various RTW pieces that include dress, jackets, pantsuits and parkas, as well as a wide selection of bags and SLGs.

Now available at all Prada boutiques locally, some of the must-have bags from this lineup include the Etiquette (SGD3550), essentially a messenger bag that can be slung over the shoulder or worn across the body for that effortless look. The other would be the Cahier (SGD4730) which comes in a smaller structured leather body that’s perfect for those on the hunt for a dressier piece.

As for those looking for something great for both work and play, there’s the Handbag which comes decorated with James Jean’s beautiful illustrations all over. Available in two sizes, complete with top handles and an additional shoulder sling that’s always useful, the smaller one comes in at 24 cm by 15.5 cm and retails at SGD3250, while the bigger one is almost twice the size, and comes in at SGD3550.

Now, if you’re one to match your bag with your SLGs, these small leather goods range from SGD350 for a simple cardholder right up to SGD1070 for the long wallet, which is actually pretty reasonable for a great collaboration piece. Rounding up the family are the iPhone7Plus cases (which also means iPhone8Plus phones) in the pink rabbit and lily motifs that’s priced at SGD400.

In other words, if you’re a fan of James and missed out on his first collaboration 10 years ago, you wouldn’t want to miss out on this now. Because chances are, he might only make a return 10 years from now…
