Hermès: Alternative Uses For #HermesHome Pieces

If you find yourself entering any Hermès boutique and making a beeline only for the leather goods, you’re probably missing out on a great deal more from Hermès. And by more, we do mean Hermès’ extensive homeware range that can be summed up in two words, exquisitely stunning. While homeware is typically tied to a conventional usage, say a round plate for dinner, or a coffee cup for your favourite beverage, some of the pieces from Hermès can actually double up with alternative uses.

The Mosaique au 24 gift box that’s made up of 3 different plates will double up perfectly as a table valet for your watches, bracelets and earrings. Instead of throwing them around and risk getting them lost under the bed, the square plate comes with a slight depression to contain your jewellery safely within. The Coeval d’Orient Tart Platter, on the other hand, works as a great wall art decor that jazzes up the living room with an intricate orient print of horses set against a summery landscape. Measuring 32 cm across, you can even hang 3 different ones along the hallway and turn it into an instant talking point.

The third would be the Tie-Set Tumbler Set that comes in a set of 6 different iconic Hermès tie prints. Aside from being the perfect tea cup, why not pop a candle in and use it to light your dining table over that romantic dinner?

Next are three others that are equally underrated and unexpected. Can’t finish that pack of crinkle cut Kettle Chips? Pick up the AT’H magnets instead, which come in a pair of Swift calfskin leather stamped with the ‘H’ logo. Next, the Iskender Ice Bucket works great in keeping your champagne nice and cold, but it also doubles up as a posh fish tank for Goldie the goldfish. Last but by no means least, if you ever roll your eyes whenever you question the need for having a paperweight, the Samarcande Paperweight makes for the perfect looking bookend, coming in a solid palladium plated metal that is sure to keep all your books in place.

So, there you have it, alternative uses for seemingly conventional pieces of Hermès homeware listed right here for you. And while we could go on and on for days, you can simply head up to the upper levels of Hermès Liat Towers and get an up-close view of eveything Hermès while trying to find new and exciting uses for them.
