Dior Cruise 2018: Lady Dior Wheel Of Fortune Tarot

IMAGE: DIOR

At Maria Grazia Chiuri’s very first Cruise 2018 show for the house of Dior, the Creative Director returned to the use of Tarot as a key design element in her RTW showpieces, which included bomber jackets, leather biker coats and sweaters amongst others. Now, for those of you who are not able to visualise yourself in outfits incorporated with embroidered and hand painted images of Karen Vogel and Vicki Noble’s Motherpeace Tarot Deck, perhaps you can consider this Lady Dior that features a circular Wheel of Fortune motif from the deck.

The circular shape has a particular significance and is one that represents femininity – a strength that the French luxury house has been emphasising ever since Chiuri came on board. The Wheel Of Fortune design, on the other hand, isn’t about your favourite word puzzle show, but rather a symbol of a cyclical change. In the case of this particular Lady Dior version, it represents a change. Gone is the quilted body and in its place the print on a smooth leather body, a wider and thicker leather shoulder strap for added comfort, along with updated DIOR charms in shiny gold hardware.

Measuring 24 cm by 20 cm, the Wheel of Fortune Lady Dior can be carried three ways, as a tote via the top handles, slung from the shoulder or across the body. If you’re one that’s all about welcoming a cyclical update to your bag wardrobe, this could very well be it, with the bag priced at SGD7400 and now available only in Black across Dior’s boutiques at ION Orchard, Marina Bay Sands and Ngee Ann City.
