Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Manhattan

If you’re doing a double-take and finding this familiar, you’re not wrong. A new reissue of LV’s original Mahattan, the Monogram Canvas Manhattan 2.0 sports that familiar pair of front pockets and top handles, but it kinda ends there as far as its predecessor is concerned. The shape has been updated to become more rectangular, the strap that goes down the middle removed and more functionally, a long leather sling has been added for those who wish to carry the new 2.0 over the shoulder or across the body.

Also new, the added panels of cowhide leather on the sides which will match the top handles and the sling; they come in 3 colours (Caramel, Noir and Raisin). Available in a single size (31 cm by 22), the Manhattan is named after the city that never sleeps, and like its namesake is a bag that lets you go on and on and on. You could consider it a mini travel companion of sorts, the type of bag that you can lug onto the plane as a duffle, or an everyday workbag that you can throw everything in with ease.

Better yet, its pair of front pockets provides additional storage, while the interior comes armed with 2 smartphone pockets. Zip the bag shut with the magnetic flap down for added security, and you’re literally good to go on your next adventure. Available now in Louis Vuitton boutiques across Singapore, this versatile piece is priced at SGD3500, which while isn’t the most affordable option to consider, does have its advantages. Two front pockets, magnetic flap, roomy interior, leather-panelled sides and a detachable strap. All of which equals a pretty good deal, yes?

Weren’t there other reissues earlier this year? I swear I saw some LV hobo-style bags in a magazine this Spring or Summer: Monogram Canvas with bright red leather trim, plus two calfskin ones in pink and maybe yellow? Can’t find them on the LV site now though…
