You’ve heard about Gabriela Hearst. You’ve heard about NET-A-PORTER. Together, they come together in support of the Save The Children charity, an organisation that aids families in Kenya who are currently experiencing a hunger crisis and impending famine. In doing so, Gabriela has pledged to make a donation of USD600,000 to support the relief efforts, by making her coveted handbags available on NET-A-PORTER from October 1 to October 8 2017.

This meaningful collaboration is more than just another publicity stunt for the brand. Gabriela has been on the ground in Kenya, met with the people and is sharing her views and story on why this project is more than just a pledge for donation. It’s also about raising awareness for the humanitarian crisis that’s happening as we speak. Proceeds netted from the sale will translate into cash grants given to more than a thousand families in the Turkana region.

As for the bags that will be made available at NET-A-PORTER in the coming week, you can expect three Gabriela Hearst signatures. Of the three, two are statement-making favourite handbags (Ella and Nina) we’ve covered previously, and the third would be the chic-looking backpack, that’s equally functional, known as Billie. Prices will range from USD1995 to USD16,000 with pieces coming in smooth calfskin, nappa leather and suede, as well in exotic skins like croc and snake.

In other words, you can finally get the Gabriela Hearst bag you’ve always wanted during this limited period, while contributing to a good cause at the very same time. That’s a win-win situation, don’t you think?
