Staud Moreau Bucket Bag

Let’s talk about Staud. No, not stud (or studs), but Staud, a Los Angeles-based brand founded in 2015 by Sarah Staudinger and George Augusto. Besides catering to the fashion forward lady as far as apparel is concerned, the label has a number of bags, with one having a cult following of its own, the Moreau Bucket Bag.

The Moreau is not your typical bucket bag. For one, it does not have a detachable strap, so it can only be carried via the dual top handles like a tote. The other distinctive feature would be the cotton netting that encapsulates the brown calf leather bucket within. On first look, it’s reminiscent of a macramé planter from the 70s, setting it apart from your usual run-of-the-mill bucket bags of today. Standing at 33 cm high inclusive of the handles and 20 cm at its widest, the Moreau is actually pretty sizeable, with a 100% calf leather exterior that’s also fully lined in suede.

And while the Moreau Bucket Bag is currently sold out at NET-A-PORTER, you’ll find it online at Staud where it’s priced at US375. The good news? They do ship to Singapore with international shipping starting from USD35, depending on how fast you want your item shipped over to you. With an option to pay duties upfront or upon delivery, the total cost works out to about SGD630 inclusive of taxes. Yes, it isn’t exactly cheap, but if you’re looking for a bag that’s utterly hipster (and uniquely) chic and guaranteed to let you stand out from the crowd, this would be it.
