Mansur Gavriel had their horizontally-wide totes (Large Tote and Small Tote) for quite some time now, and the fashion world has been waiting patiently for their taller, vertical tote version ever since. Now the time has come, as the girls finally unveiled their vertical version, known as the North South Tote, that was presented at their recent Fall 2017 runway show.

The appeal in these vertical beauties lies in its streamlined proportions that allow a strap to be added without the bag looking awfully chunky. One can hold it three ways, as a tote, with the sling used over the shoulder or across the body, giving it added versatility. And if the above factors still aren’t good enough, these totes come in 3 different colour combinations that are just downright beautiful.

There’s Black/Flamma, a classic Mansur Gavriel combination that’s strikingly gorgeous, and makes for the perfect weekend tote. The Moss/White and Blue/White combinations, on the other hand, are just perfect for the beach. Or work. Or even grocery shopping if you’re one of those who believe in not using plastic bags whenever you hit Cold Storage.

Retailing at USD585 over at Mansur Gavriel’s online store, the 36 cm by 30 cm Stripe North South Tote comes with a vegetable-tanned top handle and a detachable leather strap in matching colours. For the leather purists looking for an all-leather version, it does come in single-tone leather exteriors in a total of 12 colours across the vegetable tanned and calf leather options, but that’s a post for another day.
