Virgil Abloh has reconstructed 10 iconic Nike footwear designs, in a collaboration titled ‘The Ten’ that’s dubbed the fastest Nike collaboration ever, with 10 shoes ‘designed’ in just 10 months from idea to release. It all began with Virgil re-imagining five Nike footwear icons – AJ1, AM90, Air Presto, Air VaporMax and Blazer Mid, before the collaboration grew to 10 split into two line-ups known as Revealing and Ghosting.

In Revealing, the shoes are designed to look accessible, coming in favourite silhouettes mentioned earlier. With Ghosting, on the other hand, they are predominantly in translucent uppers that’s a staple throughout the five, Converse’s Chuck Taylor (yes, Converse has been a Nike subsidiary since 2003, Zoom Fly SPAir Force 1 Low, React Hyperdunk 2017 and Air Max 97.

With a focus on deconstructed logos and keywords in large fonts, these 10 pairs literally have Virgil’s design elements all over, one that you often see on his industrial-chic label, Off-White. The thing about streetwear is that there will always be two extremes, one that absolutely loves, and the other loathes, but for this upcoming collaboration, it seems that there’s way more love than loathe, and even if you’re on the fence now you’ll soon change your mind.

And with that in mind, here are the key dates you should keep an eye out for if you are #camplove. The five Revealing pairs will be pre-released at NikeLab stores during fashion week in New York City (9 to 13 September), London (18 to 22 September), Milan (21 to 25 September) and Paris (26 to 30 September). All 10 silhouettes will then be officially released from November at NikeLab stores and selected retailers worldwide.

Word on the street has it that our very own Off-White store along Orchard Road will carry the shoes, while Dover Street Market Singapore should launch them in November 2017, but nothing is confirmed so expect more updates as and when they come in. Which pair (pairs) are on your wish list?

The Blazer is so nice omg. The Vapormax too. I feel like the Converse is bad though, as if Virgil got lazy and decided to just make it all transparent. Other than that, the collection is spectacular. Resell prices are sure to be crazy high.
