Louis Vuitton World Tour Personalisation Collection

Personalisation is a big deal these days, from the simple hot-stamping of your hang-tag (Coach) to elaborate illustrations hand-painted by skilled artisans (Moynat). Then there’s Louis Vuitton’s newish World Tour Personalisation collection that’s sort of an in-between the two.

Let me explain.

For starters, nothing you see on the bags or SLGs are actually done by hand, but instead are printed onto the coated canvas once your order is sent in, and once the ‘ink’ dries, the bags or SLG you ordered will be crafted into their eventual form. And of the 6 styles available for customisation today, 3 are actual bags (think Keepall, Neverfull and the Speedy), 2 are SLGs, with the last being their rolling luggage, the Horizon 55.

With countless patch designs to choose from divided into 5 distinct groups (Cities, Heritage, Hotels, Personalisation and Pop Icons), you can have up to 5 patches on your SLG (or 537,824 combinations) and up to 10 on your bag (or 289,254,654,976 combinations, no, not a typo), which is a lot. And because no two of us are alike, it is unlikely that anyone we know will come up with the exact same combination which mean your bag (or SLG) will likely be one of a kind.

The good news. Prices are still pretty decent, from SGD805 for the PF Victorine Wallet all the way to SGD4250 for the Horizon 55. Then there is the Keepall50, the Neverfull MM and the Speedy30 that are priced at SGD3100, SGD1690 and SGD1910 respectively, with the Zippy Wallet rounding up the 6 styles at SGD1230. The bad news? You’ll have to wait up to 8 weeks from the day you place your order. But think of it this way, good things must wait, right?
