Hermès: Twilly d’ Hermès

If there’s one thing Hermès does well, it’s bags. And printed silks. Ok, there’s also jewellery and shoes and even SLGs. Ok, let me rephrase this. Hermès does many things exceedingly well, so when they launch something new, everyone sits up and takes notice. Take the new Twilly d’ Hermès fragrance for example, created by Christine Nagel who’s the in-house perfumer of the French luxury label. Her third fragrance after Eau De Rhubarbe Ecarlate and Galop d`Hermès, this scent is perfect for the young, the young at heart and everyone else who believes that a life well-lived is one that has no boundaries and the freedom to do what you choose.

Encapsulated within the reimagined (and iconic) lantern bottle that was deliberately ‘cut into half’, much like the young girl who raids her mother’s wardrobe and literally alters the clothes within to her own liking, this scent is for the lady who marches to her own beat. And like the emblematic silk twilly that it was named after, you don’t just wear it one way. You can wear it however you choose, all in the spirit of taking something and making it truly your own.

And because it is an Hermès scent, you’ll already know it will be a unique one, with ginger, tuberose and sandalwood coming together to form a scent that starts sweet but gradually matures into a fragrance that only gets better when it is enhanced by the warmth of your skin. The lively spiciness of ginger, the feminine elegance of tuberose and the tender milkiness of sandalwood, all beautifully woven together with a personality much like the young girl of today who’s playful, individual and almost irreverent.
