Louis Vuitton F/W17 Shiny Epi Pochette Métis

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. But if you want to sell more of the same thing, you come up with more variations, of course. Yes, I’m talking about Louis Vuitton’s now iconic (and much-loved) Pochette Métis, first launched in 2013 in Monogram Canvas and now reinterpreted by Nicolas Ghesquiere for the F/W17 collection. Having since been launched in Monogram ReverseMonogram Infrarouge and even Monogram Empreinte leather, this season you’ll find it in Shiny Epi, which is basically patent Epi leather.

What’s also new is its size, with the Shiny Epi Pochette Métis coming in Mini. Measuring 20 cm by 14 cm by 6 cm, it’s definitely smaller than the MM, with the added hanging key holder chain a new feature. Available in Navy (matched with Monogram Reverse) and Orange (matched with Monogram Canvas), you can carry it via its top handle or wear it across the body by using the long chain sling.

But if Shiny Epi ain’t your thing, know that the Pochette Métis will come in Denim Epi (MM size), in florals printed on Epi leather in both sizes and even one that comes with brogue detailing on the front flap of the bag. In other words, as and when more pics (and prices) come in, there’ll be more updates soon enough so stay tuned.
