Chanel ‘GC’ Gabrielle Hobo

No stranger to this blog, I must say the Chanel’s Gabrielle Hobo just gets better and more interesting with each new season. The full leather ones were launched first, then the ones that came in suede after, as well as the one in metallic leathers after that. And for Fall-Winter Pre-Collection 2017, we’ve got this, the Chanel ‘Gabrielle Chanel’ Gabrielle Hobo in, you guessed it, tweed.

Which kinda reminds me of the one G-Dragon toted around when I was in Seoul for the Mademoiselle Privé exhibition. But while his was clearly one he customised himself (you can catch a glimpse of it here), this one, with the name of the French luxury house’s founder boldly emblazoned across it, has already been ‘customised’ for you.

Measuring 28 cm across by 21 cm in height, it is also much younger and definitely more fun, a huge difference the previous ones that were whilst elegant, could also have bordered on mature. In other words, if you want something casual, fuss-free and colourful without being overly loud (and yes, that embroidered detailing is seriously cute too), this SGD5460 bag could be the one for you.  Yes, it is also a tad more affordable than the full leather ones, which makes it a steal really.

Update: 22 July 2017

Quick update, guys. If you’ve been to Chanel boutiques recently you would have realised that besides the Gabrielle Chanel-branded Gabrielle Hobo, there’s a smattering of other accessories that celebrate its founder in those big bold fonts. From tweed zip pouches (27.5 cm by 20 cm, from SGD1980) to thick embossed (or embroidered) belts with large resin buckles that are very 80s (from SGD1750) and even large resin cuffs (SGD1270 each), there’s never a dull moment as far as this season is concerned.

And, before I forget, see the tiny Gabrielle Hobo on the collage above? Measuring 20 cm by 15 cm by 8 cm, it is the cutest thing in this collection yet, with soft tweed on the top and a hard leather base on the bottom. Priced at SGD4790, this is on my wish list and it is also #lovelovelove.
