Spring-Summer 2017 Mens Stella McCartney

Better late than never. Yes, acclaimed British fashion designer Stella McCartney has started a full menswear line. After all, she did work with famed Savile Row tailor Edward Sexton some 22 years ago. Her first full-fledged menswear collection for Spring-Summer 2017 is said to be inspired by her father, and the collection comprises almost everything the modern man needs in his wardrobe, from polos to shirts, from shorts to trousers, even shoes and accessories. Which in short, makes it a pretty impressive debut menswear collection.

It’s how you want your dad to look or your best friend or your lover…’ says Stella when asked to describe her inspiration behind the #StellaMenswear line. Entirely leather-free, it’s an added incentive for the guy who is against the use of skins and fur, and completely in line with Stella’s vegan-friendly principles which she applies religiously to her own eponymous line.

The collection largely features relaxed proportions, giving it a casual-luxe feel, something that Stella has been doing so well with her womenswear line. Fresh and wearable, a few standout pieces include the embroidered swallow pieces that come in polo and cotton shirt variations. There are tees aplenty, sweatshirts with large logotype text, striped jumpers, even washed denim shirts, which means there’s definitely something for everyone. Then there are the jeans and trousers, alongside shoes, bags and accessories like scarves and socks for that complete #StellasWorld look.

Available online via Stella McCartney (yes, they do ship direct to Singapore), you could also check out online destinations like MATCHESFASHION, and Mr Porter for more options. Or just head down to Club21 Mens at Four Seasons Hotel where we hear almost 80% of the collection is now currently stocked.
