Cruise 2017 Womens Gucci: Meet GG Marmont, Sylvie & The Snake Print Messenger

If you guys can recall, I was recently in Tokyo on the good grace of Gucci for their #Gucci4Rooms exhibition, part of the Italian luxury house’s ongoing efforts to meld the world of art and fashion as imagined by Creative Director Alessandro Michele. And boy, what an experience it was, with 4 different artists including famed graffiti artist Trouble Andrew each creating their own special room that was playful, interactive and sometimes overwhelming, but in the best possible way.

And during our downtime (and after indulging in fresh sashimi at the famed Tsukiji fish market, snagging another Snorlax on the way back to the hotel and copious amounts of shopping), I hooked up with Hong Kong-based fashion photographer Harrison Tsui for a quick jaunt around the backstreets of Jingumae to shoot 3 of Gucci’s Cruise 2017 bags you have to know about (and hopefully buy for yourself).

First up (and no stranger to this blog) is the GG Marmont (shown above) that’s been embellished with gold studs and pearls for Cruise 2017. Measuring almost 26 cm across by 16 cm, don’t belittle its small size; this darling packs a lot and its long sling means you either wear the bag long (and across the body) or looped over twice for carrying on the shoulder. Priced at SGD3390, you can also follow this link to see the other regular GG Marmont bags (sans pearls and studs) that are also available in Singapore now.

Another beauty worth a second look is this, the Cruise 2017 Sylvie that’s an ode to English vintage. Sporting a top handle on a light baby blue leather body that’s decorated with embroidered flower appliqués, the icing on this cake has got to be the gold chain buckle that runs from the top of the bag and ends in the clasp. Matched with Unia pumps that’s finished with gold spikes/studs (SGD1590), this Sylvie (32 cm by 22 cm) is truly a standout piece that’s priced at SGD4540. And yes, she comes with her very own shoulder sling too, which you can use with or separately from the bag.

Last, but by no means least, the one bag that’s still got my heart beating hard is this, this top handle messenger that comes with a stunning print of a red coral snake. Yes, I covered it here before, but this bag is love love love, measuring some 29 cm by 19 cm. Composed of grain leather (another bonus, if you ask me), it has two separate zip compartments (front and back) as well as a thick web canvas sling that’s not only beautiful, but useful as well.

Priced at SGD2350, this is one bag you’ll keep going back to, especially given how functional it is. Shown here with Vegas moccasins (SGD1120) that come emblazoned with the British flag, you can now shop them all at Gucci boutiques in Singapore, along with the new store at ION Orchard that will open sometime in early December 2016.

So, what would it be for you? The sexy GG Marmont sling with pearls and studs, the elegantly ladylike Sylvie or my own personal favourite, the snake print messenger?
