Hermès Passant Long Wallet

If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen my flatlays and my 102,834 wallets, which should last me 29,132 lifetimes, give or take a couple. What I mean is, I really do have many, and the last thing I should be getting is yet another wallet. And other than something small from Louis Vuitton recently, I’ve been a pretty good boy.

That was till I laid eyes on this handsome beast. Trying hard not to break my resolve is going to be another supreme exercise in self-control, but I cannot fault this new wallet from Hermès in any way. Known simply as the Passant, it comes in two sizes, but the one featured in today’s post is the longer of the two that measures 20.5 cm by 9.5 cm.

Actually made up of two parts (this one comes in gorgeous Epsom calfskin leather), think general flap clutch (of sorts) on the outside, with a removable pouch on the inside. The pouch is also where all the action happens, where you slot in your cards and your cash, with an additional zip pocket for loose change and receipts.

Priced at GBP1220, you can use the clutch on its own, the pouch on its own, or both together, which is genius because you can mix it up as and when you like. Just don’t let me see this in town tomorrow or I swear this will become my 102,835th wallet. You know what I mean.

If, however, you prefer something smaller, here’s the same Passant but with 2 card slots instead of the one you saw earlier which had 3. Also made of Epsom calfskin but in a colour called Flame, this one measures just 14.5 cm by 9 cm and retails for GBP1050. Yes, yes, yes!

The allure of Hermes. Was just over yesterday and was offered a compact Kelly wallet in deep red AND in gold hardware (no less!). Had to literally tear myself away from the boutique. Squeezed out that last bit of sanity and say I shall wait for that Dogon which I had originally intended for!

I love the Kelly too! Love the way it looks, that buckle, I could just go on and on. But truly, a Dogon is much more practical and user-friendly if you ask me. #highfive
