Goyard Saint Louis Junior

No, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you. This bag truly exists, which brings us to my own experience with it. Having dinner one day along Kallang River, I spotted a pair of Japanese ladies, one of whom had a bag that was exactly this, in this exact size. At first I thought it was counterfeit, but upon closer inspection (she was sitting at the next table from where I was), I decided it wasn’t so. Then I thought, could she have bought a much larger size (like a PM and GM) and then had someone cut it down (and re-sewn) for her, since customisation specialists are more and more common these days.

I was definitely confused, yet most intrigued.

Having done a little more snooping online, I’ve come to realise that the Saint Louis Junior isn’t an urban legend. Goyard did indeed make miniature versions of their iconic Saint Louis tote bags exclusively for the Japanese market. Yes, you read that right. Measuring just 28 cm by 19.5 cm, it has the same top handles as well as the additional button pouch, albeit sized down a tad smaller.

Available only in limited quantities which have since sold out (no surprise there), it was launched in only a handful of special colours, including the Pink one you see illustrated here.

It’s adorable, it’s tiny and it’s a bag that no woman cannot love. I mean, who wouldn’t want to add this little darling to their collection, right? And if anyone is eyeing it, I might have found one online for sale, so leave a comment below and I’ll email you the details ASAP. #lovelovelove
