It’s new, it’s small and it’s something from newly-rejuvenated Mulberry, made specially just for the boys. Yes, I’m talking about the Small Buckle Satchel that in my opinion most successfully combines the British heritage of Mulberry with new Creative Director Johnny Coca’s European-leaning aesthetics.

With Mulberry’s signature buckle taking centrestage on this remarkably handsome yet simple bag, it’s the grained tanned leather I love the most, rugged and hard-wearing, and given a finish of contrasting stitches that runs along the outside of the bag.

Measuring 34 cm by 21 cm, there’s a roomy main compartment, a patch pocket on the front that’s situated under the flap and another zip pocket that you’ll find at the back of the satchel. Priced at GBP895 (or around SGD1600 after conversion), it comes in 3 colours, Black (shown above), Oak and Oxblood, all of which are signature colours for Mulberry as well.

For those who love how it looks but would prefer something larger, you’re in luck. The bag also comes in a larger size (simply known as the Buckle Satchel) and measures 40 cm by 26 cm. The price is also pretty decent, just GBP1095 or under SGD2000 after conversion. Not bad. Not bad at all.
