Mansur Gavriel S/S16 Circle Bag

I’ll be first to admit it, I was smitten the moment I laid eyes on them, them being Mansur Gavriel’s new bag of the season, the S/S16 Circle Bag. Resembling the prettiest of macarons (Pierre Hermé, not Ladurée) at first sight, the almost 30 cm in diameter leather bag looks to be inspired by the hat boxes of yore which society ladies would use to store their best bonnets.

The only difference though? These bags only have about 7 cm in depth, which means you won’t be able to put any actual hat in but that’s not the point. With a pair of interior pockets set against a lushly-lined suede interior, the circular leather bag with a short top handle is both elegant and understated, a definite head-turner and something that will age beautifully no less, all rolled into one.

Currently sold out over on Mansur Gavriel where it retails for USD1095, you still can find a few colours left over at Colette where they sell for EUR895 apiece, or around SGD1370 after conversion. Which is a great price for something so pretty, especially in the 3 colours here that I adore the most: in Blush, Flamma and Peony. Love.

And because it’s so simply styled, you can also choose to add on a little of yourself to make the bag your own. For example, I can already imagine the handle being wrapped with say, a Twilly from Hermès, or a cute BagBug fur charm from Fendi hanging from the handle.
