With just over a week to go before Chanel opens their first ever pop-up store at Pedder on Scotts, I’ve invited South Korean-based artist and illustrator Jaesuk Kim to do what he does best: an illustrated series of images that have been made into short videos to showcase Chanel’s S/S16 #ChanelAirlines collection.
The scenarios are simple enough, a group of girlfriends are on the beach and spot a plane flying across the horizon. Inspired, they gather at their favourite cafe and plan their next holiday together, and in the last video, they are on the way, in a plane of course, to the destination that they planned for.
Besides the fact that the videos are beautifully illustrated, you also get to see almost all the pieces from the upcoming S/S16 collection in the 3 videos, both in the flat lay that starts each video and in the illustrations as well, from the girls wearing selected pieces from the RTW collection to the bags and accessories they are using in the videos.
